THE TATERS
6
FOOT LOOFAH
6 foot loofah is an eclectic mix of
Portishead, The Smiths, The Violet Burning, Hip-Hugging Disco and 'Fro
Metal. Describing themselves an Ethereal Power Pop Band, the group finds
themselves playing in all sorts of venues - from Poe's to Bogart's, McCormick's
to the Carytown Coin Landry, it is all the same to them.
This eclectic group of musicians found each
other in the late Spring of 2004, uniting to battle the evil forces of Wank
Rock. Coerced away from such evils was guitarist "Van Lloyden,"
whose hair metal licks have been ridiculed into extinction. His lush
Sambora-like lines compliment the beautiful, simple yet alluring melodies of
beatstress Alycia Small. Equally enticing are the delicious grooves laid
down by bassist Shelby Murphy and skin slamma' Johnny 5. Now slap my fro
dig, dats funny.

THE TATERS
RACHEL
LEYCO BAND
The Rachel Leyco Band has built a reputation as
one of the most respected bands in Richmond, Virginia. Rachel was only 18 years
old when her band was named one of Richmond's five top musical acts by the Richmond
Times Dispatch, an honor they shared with established national acts Pat
McGee Band and Fighting Gravity.
RLB performs an ever-growing list of original songs -- from fast and catchy rock
tunes, to dynamic grooves, to acoustic ballads -- all with Rachel's smooth, rich
vocals and crafty guitar playing. No matter how the music is labeled
(adult-alternative-power- pop-electric-acoustic-rock?), the songs appeal to a
wide range of listeners. The band intends to prove this claim with the release
of its first full-length CD. The band's third studio project, Something Human picks up right
from where 2002's Walk Away and Page 102 single left off. The
sound is refined and professional, with production quality and radio-friendly
songs that will compete head-on with major label releases.
On the stage, the band receives such a positive response to its original
offerings that cover songs have never been a major priority. However, to keep
things interesting, RLB has introduced certain covers, energized and tastefully
treated with their trademark sound, to the live show. RLB has been making
quite a splash in the Richmond music scene since its very inception, with
performances at major area events like Friday Cheers, TV8's Good Morning
Richmond, River City Beer and Seafood Festival, Capital City Band Festival, and
Wednesdays on the Waterfront.

SCHNITZEL
KRISTIN
Kristin is a fast rising singer/songwriter from Richmond, Virginia. She blends smart, acoustic rhythms with poetic lyrics into her own brand of folk/rock. Kristin's well-crafted compositions and unique voice truly set her apart from other artists her age. She picked up the guitar at age 14 and released her first full-length CD "Falling In Line" at 17. In less than a year, she followed up her freshman effort with a three-song EP titled "Odyssey" which is still winning praise from some of the industries acclaimed artists and promoters. "Odyssey" features some of Richmond's best musicians, including members of the Pat McGee Band: Brian Fechino, Chris Williams, and Chardy McEwin; Regan, Kyle Davis, producer Red Redling (New Potato Caboose), and recording engineer John Morand at Sound of Music Studios.
Along with writing and recording her own music, Kristin has also co-written the music for the all original children's play "The Frog Prince Unraveled" with her long-time guitar teacher and producer Red Redling. The play debuted in early June 2003. Kristin has shared the stage with Ember Swift, CommonbonD, Laura Blackley Band, Daniel Lee, Zoe Lewis, Trina Hamlin, Bitch (of Bitch and Animal), Regan, and other diverse artists. After spending a year studying Music Business at Radford University, Kristin is now attending Virginia Commonwealth University full-time working on her music degree in classical guitar performance. Her third CD release, titled "Know Me", was recorded with the help of Mary Beth de Pompa and Ashley Miller of CommonbonD. Only 21 years of age, Kristin is building a solid foundation in the music world, and shows great promise for the future.
