JERRY
JOE RENO
Jerry Joe Reno is outlaw country. Picking
up where Cash and Jennings left off, Reno's songwriting is influenced by traditional country as well as rock, funk, and
jazz. The rhythm section rolls like a train and then turns it around so
hard, you might just flash “jazz hands” in a honky-tonk. The southern funky
grooves are complimented by lyrics that tell the stories of running moonshine,
eluding the law, falling in love, broken hearts, and the good and bad times in
between. The live show is a foot stomping, beer drinking good time for
anyone who loves a little country and a little rock n roll.
Jerry Joe Reno – vocals, guitar
Brooke Hankins – vocals, percussion
Malone Fontaine – bass
Russell Gibbs - drums

THE TATERS
BUTTERCUP
Buttercup is two sisters (rhythm guitar, bass
and vocals) hangin out in the drummer's basement with a fiddler and a lead
guitar player, exhuming long-buried honky-tonk songs and mixing in classic
country favorites. Buttercup's originals are the final ingredient, which pay
homage to the golden hay-day of C&W without ignoring civilization post-Hank
-- i.e., rockabilly, punk, the sexual revolution, Paxil and David Lynch. Primary
themes of cover songs: drinking, cheating and crying. Primary themes of original
songs: loving, leaving and dying. oh yeah and plus drinking . . .
Richmond.com by Caine O'Rear: "The music of
the honky-tonk group Buttercup inhabits the world of Hank, Johnny Paycheck and
Ray Price and the Cherokee Cowboys. Mixing original tunes with classic country
covers, this five-piece band - led by sisters Cassandra (Moondog) and Octavia
(T-Bone) - sings about cowboy poets who don't stay, salvation through Cuervo and
the hard-luck life of a barfly. Simply put, Buttercup is a Richmond band not to
be missed."

ROB
DUSKEY (BROKETILLFRIDAY)
Broketillfriday has always been a revolving
door. Constant changes in musicians, styles, venues, homes, and voices. There
are a few consistencies however that make the acoustic folk rock music what it
is today. The music has always been heartfelt, melodic and honest.
Behind that honesty is BTF's front man Rob Duskey. When asked what Rob thinks of
his music his response was " I think its an honest portrayal of a young man
dealing with family, friends, girls, and stories but mainly its about me. I
don't try to sound commercial but at the same time I don't try to sound like
anyone else. I would have to say my influences include Adam Duritz, Ryan Adams,
Ben Folds Five, Van and Jim Morrison. Some lady at a gig last week said I
reminded her of Meatloaf and I thought to myself, that kinda sucks. A lot of
people say my music takes them home or reminds them of home. Which is funny
because ever since I've been legal I've been anywhere but home."
Regardless of who you compare them to, Broketillfriday is here to stay.
